This game is so far the best ive ever played. When mr. Itoi first made MOTHER for the nes, he had a story to tell, when MOTHER 2 or EARTHBOUND reached our states, he put us through excitement, adventure, fear, and in my case sheer addiction. Now, the final game was released a few days ago, called mother 3 and ..0defined as "heartwarming" by mr itoi himself. Thousands of people awaited the gameapos;s translation for years and now the game can be downloaded for all. I couldnapos;t wait either and now i got the game yesturday night. The game starts of pretty good but the opening screen shows a very negitivly toned cinematic. The game then allows you to choose the name of your characters such as lucas, a tender boy who is the key to the entire adventure, hinawa, a loving mother who appreciates nature, flint, a hard-working man who will fight for anybody, and claus, lucasapos;s brother who also is the key to the entire adventure. The story begins at hinawaapos;s dadapos;s home at the outskirts of tazmily village. Lucas wakes up to clausapos; yelling " hey lucas, lets play with the dragos today" he says. Lucas awakens and heads downstairs "lucas, honey go upstairs and change" hinawa suggests as you head back upstairs to change. Lucas heads out to see his brother at the side of the mountain. He is seen playing with the dragos using the "dash" ablility to attack the beast. Apperantly, the beasts somehow enjoy the force like a bunch of masochists dinorsaurs(sick right hahaha yea) anyways, you learn the move and use it against the beast and it shierks in happyiness. Just then, a mole cricket comes and just challenges lucas and claus for no reason whatsoever. They beat him and the mole cricket says heapos;ll challenge them again in some tournement somewhere. Anyways, its the end of the summer and they get ready to get home to the central villege when in the forest, some strange pig like army enter and set the woods on fire.
flint, the father didnt go to the summer home with them and during dinner, he is informed that the forest is on fire by the local firefighters. His home, or rather, the lucas family home is located on the south side of tazmilly whereas alecapos;s, hinawas fatherapos;s home is located on the far northern side of the village. Flint gets ready to head out while saving the masses in the process. In the forest, flint is guided to the temple by a clergyman and is given instuctions to imput the name of the the player...you. This particuliar feature is common in the earthbound series even a final attempt where the player defeats the final boss giygus using just his name. "jose the great" is the name i used, and the templeapos;s god acknowledges it and flint continues onward. Lighter and his son fluid have trapped themselves in their home at the middle of the forest and flint gets word of this on his way to the source of this fire. Flint detours towards lighterapos;s home and fights strange creatures such as a yamamoto monster, dragonflies and a flying mouse which is a mouse/fly hybrid. Flint saves the home and continues onward to the source of the fire and ends up at the base of a mountain. Old man wess is introduced and explains his son duster will be needed for this mission, but is a unreliable thief who is a little on the slow side. Flints dog boney tags along after retreaving duster from his home and the trio heads up the mountain. They find out that the pig army are creating these creatures and they send one on the group . The reconstructed caribou attacks the group and is taken down soon after. The pigs retreat and the group return with the news. As they reach the ground, flint and co. Are informed that lucas and claus have been found. It rains and the fire is put out, a fireplace has been made and the group along with the town gather for some bad news. A "drago fang" has been found and will be able to kill the monster....but the fang has been found in his wifeapos;s heart. Flint goes in a heart broken berserk and gets knocked out by lighter. He awakens in jail, being he is the first one ever in the jail. Claus breaks him out by giving him an apple with a nail file stuck inside. Flint takes the nail file and breaks the lock and is released. Flint heads to the grave of his wife to find only lucas and alec mourning. Alec and lucas inform flint that claus went to the top of the mountain to fight the drago to avenge hinawa. Flint takes the fang to the blacksmith to receive the drago fang knife and head off to hopefully catch claus before his squares off with the humungous beasts. As flint arrives he finds his sonapos;s shoe..and the other one deep in the dragoapos;s den at the top of the mountain. The drago reveals himself but not as normal dragon, but a hybrid beast made of metal and flesh. Apperantly, the pigs have gotten to the beast too and morphed him to a monster. Flint and alec square off against the beast and win but his son is nowhere to be found.
end of chapter one...and thats the danm summary theres alot of extra things too but i dont belive that mattered to the gist of the narration.
the game is really good i strongly recommend you play this game above the rest because you can get into it easily and the stories all are different with only the ending tieing from mother 2. Alright tommarow is another day.
